Lombard Management Group is an owner‑operator focused on timeless multifamily housing in Portland’s most established neighborhoods. We specialize in in‑city properties with history, character, and enduring appeal—assets that benefit from careful stewardship rather than third‑party bureaucracy.

Unlike traditional property managers, Lombard owns and operates the buildings it manages. This alignment creates a fundamentally different experience for both residents and partners. Decisions are made quickly, maintenance is addressed directly, and long‑term resident satisfaction is treated as a core investment principle—not an afterthought.


Our portfolio is concentrated within the Portland Metropolitan Area, with a particular focus on Northwest Portland and Goose Hollow. These are neighborhoods defined by walkability, architectural charm, and lasting demand. Every property is managed in‑house, with hands‑on involvement from ownership and a clear emphasis on responsiveness and accountability.

Arie van Gemeren, CFA

FOUNDER & OWNER

Arie van Gemeren is the Founder & Owner of Lombard Equities Group, a West Coast focused real estate investment company with holdings in the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, and Seattle. The Firm’s portfolio is currently valued at over to $150 million. The Firm works with ultra-wealthy clientele in the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada, and Oregon to acquire tier-1 value-add properties in major West Coast cities, often focusing on urban assets with appreciable upside through renovations and careful stewardship. Arie formerly worked as a Principal at Rising Tide, a family office in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he focused on working with clients and investments in property and financial technology companies. Previously he worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co. as an investment advisor and CIO, overseeing a book of $4 billion in client AUM. He started his career with Fisher Investments, where he worked as an equity research analyst directly supporting the Investment Policy Committee on management of a $100 billion AUM portfolio. While at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Arie earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation, a course of study on financial theory that takes three years to complete.


Arie attended the University of California at Davis, graduating in 2009, where he majored in History & Political Science and minored in Philosophy. He competed for the Men’s Division 1 Swimming Program and attended US Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (graduating in the top 10th of the class) while at university. He married his college sweetheart, who also swam for UC Davis, and together they have four children, living in Portland, Oregon.


Arie is actively involved in his community and serves as the Chairman of the Housing Committee for Catholic Charities of Oregon. He also actively writes The Timeless Investor, a publication followed by over 20,000 investors across the United States.
